In an exclusive interview he spoke to Asian Trucker about his impressions during the visit, the need for reliable trucks for his operation and plans for India involving trucks.

It was the handover event for the past CEO of DCVT (Mr Sascha Ricanek, to my right) to the new CEO (Mr Stefano Giordani). The event started at 7 pm in a Chinese table setting Dealers, Investors, and many business partners came for the farewell of the old one and to welcome the new one. And of course, I joined as one of DCVT’s dealerships. This is why I also attended. The event begun with one representative from Daimler SEA giving the opening speech; he shared his belief that Daimler brands in Thailand still have big areas to grow and that he would like to support Thailand’s market together with DCVT.
A group of truck enthousiasts will be joining this event, showcasing their trucks. The objective of this event is to represent the internal environment of the truck and at the same time, to educate people on the awareness of the safety surrounding the vehicles.
The Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) is buying 200 liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks to promote a greener environment.
This purchase will make up about 15 percent of its truck fleet. PSA expects to award the winning bid to the company who have won the tender to supply of the trucks. The cost of the trucks is unknown until the tender is awarded, however, LNG models are generally more expensive than the diesel models.

The world's largest electric vehicle is a 110 tonnes electric dump truck that is capable of carrying 65 tonnes of materials - the Komatsu eDumper.
Manufactured by Switzerland's Kuhn Schweiz AG, the eDumper measuring in at a length of 10m, a width of 4.24m, a height of 4.40m and a wheelbase of 4.30m. It is powered by a 4.4 tonnes 600kWh battery, equivalent to six Tesla Model S electric battery.

The car rental and leasing arm of ComfortDelGro Corporation Ltd, ComfortDelGro Rent-A-Car Pte Ltd, has ventured into leasing heavy vehicles after the company added five units of prime movers to its rental fleet.
These prime movers have been leased to Haulio Pte Ltd, a logistics tech startup company which offers a B2B platform that connects container haulage companies, clients and drivers. Haulio tracks its containers using its Internet of Things (IoT) smart trailers solution and scheduling algorithms, in order for them to maximise their fleet of trucks and drivers.
Volvo Trucks Malaysia has delivered 8 out of the 18 units trucks to one of its long-established business partner, FGV Transport Services Sdn Bhd. A handover ceremony was held at Volvo Trucks Malaysia's headquarters in Shah Alam.
FGV Transport Services is a total logistics service provider catering both to domestic and international transportation, as well as shipment requirements. End of last year, the company has ordered 18 units of Volvo FMX 6x4 trucks to use as its crude palm oil tankers and general cargo trucks.
Volvo Trucks Malaysia will hand over the remaining 10 units by October this year.
